Dental Insurance, Treatment Costs & Financing in Tribeca, NYC

Understanding the cost of dental care should be straightforward. At Tribeca Advanced Dentistry in downtown Manhattan, we welcome patients with participating PPO dental insurance and patients paying without insurance. This page explains our insurance participation, self-pay examination and cleaning fees, treatment estimates, and financing options.

We can provide standard fees for routine services over the phone. For more involved treatment, a consultation helps us understand your needs and provide an individualized estimate before you decide how to proceed.

Dental Insurance

Tribeca Advanced Dentistry participates in a range of PPO dental insurance plans. Network participation depends on your specific plan and the dentist providing your treatment. Please contact our office before your appointment to confirm participation for your plan and preferred provider.

The insurance company’s name alone does not confirm coverage. Not every plan offered by a listed carrier is in-network with every dentist at our practice. If you do not see your insurer listed, contact us to ask about your specific plan.

When you call, have your insurance card available and let us know which dentist or treatment you are interested in. Ask about your plan’s benefits and estimated out-of-pocket costs before proceeding with treatment.

How Dental PPO Plans Work

A dental PPO, or preferred provider organization, generally offers flexibility to see dentists in or out of its network, with lower costs for participating providers. Specialist referrals are generally not required.

PPO plans may have deductibles, coinsurance, waiting periods, and annual benefit limits. Coverage varies by procedure and plan. Having a PPO does not mean that every service is covered or every dentist participates in your particular plan.

Dental HMO vs. PPO: What Is the Difference?

Dental HMO plans, also called DHMO or DMO plans, generally require you to use a designated network and select a primary dentist. Specialist care may require a referral. These plans often have lower premiums, scheduled copayments, and no annual benefit maximum.

PPO plans generally provide more choice of dentists, while HMO plans place more emphasis on receiving care within their network. The right choice depends on your budget, preferred providers, and the details of the plan.

Why We Do Not Accept Dental HMO or DMO Plans

Tribeca Advanced Dentistry does not participate in dental HMO or DMO plans because their reimbursement structure and contractual requirements do not fit our practice’s approach to care. Our fees need to support the appointment time, clinical team, materials, and laboratory work involved in the treatment we provide.

This is a decision about which insurance arrangements work for our practice. An HMO may still be an appropriate option for patients who prefer its costs and are comfortable receiving care within its network.

You are welcome to visit us as a self-pay patient even if you have an HMO. Because we do not participate in these networks, do not assume your plan will cover treatment here. Confirm any exceptions with your insurer before your appointment.

Is It OK to Come Without Dental Insurance?

Yes. You do not need dental insurance to receive care at Tribeca Advanced Dentistry. We welcome self-pay patients for routine examinations and cleanings, as well as fillings, crowns, veneers, dental implants, and other treatment.

When scheduling, let our team know that you will be paying without insurance and ask about the expected cost of your appointment. Our examination and cleaning fees are listed below. For additional treatment, ask for an itemized estimate so you can understand the recommended care and its cost before proceeding.

For more extensive treatment, third-party financing may help spread payments over time. Approval and repayment terms depend on the financing provider.

Is a consultation the same as a new-patient exam?

A consultation for implants, veneers, a smile makeover, or another specific concern may involve different services from a routine examination and cleaning. When scheduling, tell us what you would like to discuss and ask which appointment is appropriate, what it includes, and what it costs.

Costs for Implants, Veneers, Crowns and Other Treatment

For routine services, such as examinations and cleanings, we can provide our standard fees over the phone. Our published self-pay examination and cleaning fees are also listed above.

For fillings, root canals, individual crowns, veneers, Invisalign, and teeth whitening, contact our office to ask whether a standard fee or initial price range is available. The final estimate depends on your dental needs and the treatment recommended.

Why Don’t We Give Exact Quotes for Complex Treatment Over the Phone?

For dental implants, All-on-4, full-mouth reconstruction, or a smile makeover, a procedure name alone does not tell us what your treatment will involve. An accurate estimate depends on your dental condition, the number of teeth involved, the materials selected, and any additional procedures required.

Rather than give you a number that may not reflect your needs, we recommend a consultation, along with any necessary examination or imaging. This allows us to discuss your options and provide an individualized estimate for the recommended treatment.

When comparing estimates, check what each price includes. For implant treatment, for example, ask whether surgery, temporary teeth, and final restorations are included or priced separately. An itemized estimate should make the proposed procedures, materials, and stages of care clear.

For complex implant and restorative care, you can request a consultation with Dr. Olga Malkin, our prosthodontist. Your treatment needs determine which members of our dental team are involved.

Dental Financing Options

Third-party financing can help spread the cost of treatment over time. Approval, financing amounts, interest rates, and repayment terms are determined by the financing provider. Review your available options and total repayment cost before accepting a plan.

Financing is a credit arrangement, not dental insurance or a discount on treatment. Before accepting a plan, review the interest rate, payment schedule, any fees, and the total amount you will repay. Ask what happens if you miss a payment or do not pay off a promotional balance by its deadline.

CareCredit

CareCredit is a healthcare credit card that can be used for eligible dental expenses. Financing options are subject to credit approval and offer terms. For deferred-interest promotions, interest is charged from the purchase date if the promotional balance is not paid in full by the deadline. Minimum monthly payments may not be enough to pay off that balance within the promotional period.

Cherry Payment Plans

Cherry offers payment plans for eligible patients. Applying involves a soft credit check that does not affect your credit score. Once a payment plan is active, it may be reported to credit bureaus. Available amounts, rates, and repayment terms depend on eligibility. Contact our office for our practice’s application link.

LendingClub Patient Solutions

Contact our office to confirm current availability and request the appropriate patient application link. Available financing amounts and repayment terms depend on the provider’s approval process.
