At Tribeca Advanced Dentistry, creating your restorations is part of the care we provide right here in our office. Our full on-site dental laboratory brings together digital design, milling, and 3D printing to produce custom crowns, veneers, bridges, and other dental restorations.

Located within our Downtown Manhattan practice, the laboratory allows our dentists and technicians to work closely throughout the process—from planning the shape of your teeth to fabricating and refining your restorations.

Step Inside Our Dental Lab

Our laboratory is equipped with two dental milling machines and two 3D printers, giving our team several ways to turn a digital design into a physical restoration.

These technologies serve different purposes. We use milling to shape restorations from solid dental materials, including zirconia. Our 3D printers can produce temporary crowns, night guards, and selected final crowns, with the material and method chosen for the specific treatment.

Having these capabilities within our practice keeps much of the laboratory work close to the clinicians responsible for your care.

Digital Crown Design: From Your Teeth to a Custom Fit

Before a crown is fabricated, its design must account for the tooth it will cover and how it relates to the surrounding teeth.

In our crown-design video, you can see our team working with a three-dimensional model of prepared teeth. The technician designs temporary crowns around those preparations, reviewing the restorations from different angles before they are made.

The video demonstrates a workflow in which temporary crowns are designed for fabrication in our office that same day. These provisional restorations are part of the treatment process while the final restorations are being planned and completed. Your dentist will explain the timing appropriate for your case.

Milling Crowns and Veneers

Our laboratory includes a five-axis milling machine that approaches the material from multiple directions. This movement allows it to shape the detailed contours involved in making dental restorations.

We use our milling equipment to fabricate restorations such as crowns and veneers, including zirconia restorations. A second milling machine expands our ability to work with different dental materials.

The choice of material and fabrication method follows your treatment plan, taking into account the restoration’s purpose, position, and appearance.

3D Printing for Temporary Restorations and Night Guards

Our two 3D printers build dental restorations and appliances layer by layer from digital designs.

As Alex explains in our laboratory video, temporary restorations are a regular part of this workflow. Our printing capabilities also include night guards and selected final crowns when the material and clinical requirements are appropriate.

Printing and milling give our team different fabrication options. The process is selected for your treatment rather than using one method for every restoration.

His work connects the design on the screen with the restoration your dentist evaluates in your mouth. Having our laboratory team on site supports direct conversations about design details, materials, and adjustments.

Dr. Olga Malkin, our prosthodontist, works with the laboratory on restorative and aesthetic treatment, including veneers, crowns, implant restorations, and full-mouth reconstruction.

For a smile makeover, each restoration needs to contribute to the overall result. Tooth shape, proportions, shade, and bite are considered together, with the clinical and laboratory teams coordinating their work around the treatment plan.
